It was a pheasant farm ruinous but Isabel López-Quesada knew on sight that was to be his new home. “I did not want a house or a villa. My dream was to find a farm destroyed and rehabilitate it to my liking. There it was.”

Biarritz around the countryside is green and extends in the form of gentle hills where oaks grow. Elizabeth’s house is white with gray painted shutters, and from their balconies four acre garden designed by Fernando Caruncho looks, and in the background, the roundness of the meadows. “I arranged in a year the original house with a gable roof, and then added a flag to make a big living room, a guest room and a pool. So the house was more focused on the farm, “says the decorator.

He adds: “I wanted to build twisted and wrong, everything was simple and natural: the whitewashed plaster as formerly, doors, floors and old wooden beams unvarnished, broken walls, as though they carried there forever.”

This luxury home is light, the huge size of the rooms, poor materials, freshness, a very relaxed sophistication that has nothing to do with the price of furniture and objects.

“The luxury was to design it adds López-Quesada whole, and this style will call the seedy-luxe look.”
