“I think that the most important thing a woman can have- next to talent, of course- is her hairdresser.”

― Joan Crawford

Style № 47. Hannah by David Sims, Heads: Hair by Guido

“Beware of her fair hair, for she excels

All women in the magic of her locks;

And when she winds them round a young man’s neck,

She will not ever set him free again.”

― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Short and clean.

“Symbolic of life, hair bolts from our head[s]. Like the earth, it can be harvested, but it will rise again. We can change its color and texture when the mood strikes us, but in time it will return to its original form, just as Nature will in time turn our precisely laid-out cities into a weed-way.”

― Diane Ackerman, A Natural History of the Senses

“She was the most beautiful creature on Earth – her hair said so in that language only hair can speak.”

― Gabriel Bá, Daytripper

“At this moment, all I’m thinking about is what I’d give up for the chance to kiss her or to run my fingers through her dark hair.”

― Marie Lu, Legend

I just got to thinking about hair this morning after looking around at  these fabulous hairstyles.

Hair.

It’s perhaps the most personal and intimate relationship we will ever have.

It’s something that is with us morning, noon and night.

We think about our hair from the moment we get up.

How our hair is behaving can determine our mood, our entire day at times.

We battle and fight with our hair.

Our hair relationship is often about who’s in control.

How are we going to change it.

Make it better. Make it different. Make it cooler, cuter, sexier, curlier, straighter, longer, shorter.

It’s a lifelong relationship that can affect how we feel, if we get the job, the romance, the confidence — it’s actually quite amazing isn’t it?

It is after all, just hair.

Kind of profound actually.

It’s an intimate relationship that we all share, yet are all so uniquely individual.

So while the quest for the perfect hair probably will never end…. it should not define us.

How we live, what we do, the love we give and how we treat others is all that really matters in the end.

On that note, I wish you, and your hair a great (hair) day!
